Enhancing Economic Development through Technology: Focus on Africa and Other Developing Countries

H.E. Jerry Rawlings speaks on Somalia, The Horn of Africa, and Food Security

His Excellency Jerry Rawlings, African Union High Representative for Somalia and the African Union Face of Humanitarian Efforts in the Horn of Africa, discussed the efforts being done to end the humanitarian crisis in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, as well as what still needs to be done on food security and other issues in the region. The public lecture by the Former President was part of the larger 2nd Annual CTED Conference themed, “Enhancing Economic Development through Technology: Focus on Africa and other Developing Regions.” This conference, organized in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade and under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, sought to highlight the possibilities that innovative technology can bring to emerging regions around the world. The conference was held in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
