New York University Africa House-CTED Gala Celebration

Date: April 3, 2025

Time: 5:30pm to 8:00pm

Overview:

The Center for Technology, Economics, and Development (CTED) is dedicated to solving critical economic challenges in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa through innovative, technology-driven solutions. Many communities in these regions struggle with inefficient land administration, limited financial access for smallholder farmers, and the underutilization of cultural heritage as an economic driver. These issues hinder economic growth, deepen poverty, and create systemic barriers to development. We serve these communities along four major pathways:

  • Financial access and market integration for farmers

  • Blockchain for financial inclusion

  • Enhancing land administration and governance

  • Tourism and cultural heritage development

During this year’s gala, we will showcase our research achievements along these four major pathways, our progress, and our vision for the future. The gala will also feature a cocktail reception and buffet with African cuisine, student research fellowship awards, entertainment, and a wonderful exhibition of African art.
