Event Overview:
On September 22, 2016, the Namibia Commerce and Prosperity Forum provided an intimate forum for chief executives, business leaders, and investors to explore the Republic of Namibia’s dynamic, pro-business policies and spotlight the many investment opportunities now available in the country’s key priority sectors.
The keynote address was delivered by His Excellency Dr. Hage G. Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, which included a presentation on Namibia and its openness to foreign investment. Then, Professor Yaw Nyarko, Director of NYU Africa House, led a panel discussion with Namibia’s Minister of Finance, Minister of Mines and Energy, Minister of Economic Planning, and Minister of Industrialization.
Situated on Africa’s southwestern Atlantic seaboard, bordered by South Africa, Angola, Botswana, and Zambia, Namibia stands among the continent’s most efficient and well-positioned ports, offering great potential as a commercial hub and direct channel to the vast Southern African Region – a market with upwards of 300 million people.
