On April 21, 2011, NYU Africa House welcomed presidential candidate Dr. Oscar Kashala for a meet and greet. Dr. Kashala is the National President of the Union for the Rebuilding of Congo (UREC), a political party registered with the DRC Government. He is also a graduate of Harvard University and has held senior executive positions in the pharmaceutical industry.
